Avitourism is a type of alternative tourism that allows birds to be observed in their natural habitat without affecting their environment. The objective of this research is to analyze the development and operation of avitourism in the city of Guayaquil, through a qualitative study, where the interview and the observation of the participant were used to gather in-depth information. As a result of this, it was found that Guayaquil has Ruta de Aviturismo del Malecón del Estero Salado, which is managed by three tour operators, but its frequency of visits is minimal.
