| dc.description | El objetivo central de este artículo es evaluar los niveles de engagement de los funcionarios de una Institución de Educación Superior en Ecuador. Se realiza una revisión de la literatura encontrando sus antecedentes, conceptos, escalas de medidas y mediante la aplicación de la Utrech Work Engagement Scale (UWES) a 461 trabajadores, se evalúan las dimensiones que contribuyen a que el engagement esté presente en ellos. Se encontró que el 79% de los trabajadores están engaged con su trabajo y la dimensión mejor evaluada fue “Vigor”. Se concluye que el engagement es un constructo que contribuye al bienestar de los trabajadores y un análisis a tiempo puede aportar positivamente en el plan de acción y logro de los objetivos de la organización. Además, vale la pena considerar que el recurso humano es el motor de toda Institución y es importante velar por su bienestar físico, intelectual y emocional dentro de su lugar de trabajo. | es |
| dc.description.abstract | The main objective of this paper is to describe the level of engagement in workers of a higher education institution in Ecuador. A literary review is done finding background, concepts and measurement scales of this construct and through the application of the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) to 461 employees and the dimensions that contribute to engagement are described. Results give that 79% of workers are engaged and the dimension with highest score is "Vigor". It is concluded that engagement is an essential construct that contributes to the welfare of workers and a timely analysis can contribute positively in the action plan and achieving the objectives of the organization. In addition, it is worth considering that the human resource is the engine of any institution and it is important to ensure their physical, intellectual and emotional in their workplace wellness. | es |
