Abstract
This study addresses the incidence of the digital divide in students' learning, analyzing how the lack of access to information and communication technologies (ICT) perpetuates educational inequalities. Using a mixed-methods approach, surveys were conducted with 89 high school students, grouped into those with and without access to technological resources, to identify the relationship between access to technological devices and training in digital tools. The results show that students without technological resources have significantly lower academic performance compared to those with access, while students with access to devices report an improvement in their educational experience. Furthermore, training in digital tools positively correlates with the quality of their assignments and academic performance. In conclusion, the study underscores the urgent need to implement specific strategies, such as providing technological infrastructure and training programs in digital competencies, to mitigate the digital divide and ensure equitable learning opportunities.
