Abstract
The general objective of the research was “To determine the incidence of ethical values in the training of students at the Puerto Quito Educational Unit.” The research modality corresponds to a mixed work, the quantitative is evidenced by the application of surveys to measure the perception of students regarding the teaching based on values received by their teachers. The qualitative part is represented by the teachers' points of view and criteria on the importance of education in values and their current participation in this topic. The sample is made up of 100 seventh and seventh year students of basic general education. A survey consisting of 14 questions was applied, and an interview of 10 questions was carried out with two teachers from the institution. The results show that young people require motivational talks from teachers that promote an education in values, the direct influences of the lack of values in some students are mainly due to factors such as family disintegration and little communication with their parents in addition to lack of socialization due to the time dedicated to digital media, although teachers have promoted actions, they are superficial and have not had a significant impact.

La investigación tuvo como objetivo general “Determinar la incidencia de los valores éticos en la formación de los estudiantes de la Unidad Educativa Puerto Quito”. La modalidad de investigación corresponde a un trabajo mixto, lo cuantitativo se evidencia con la aplicación de encuestas para medir la percepción de los estudiantes respecto a la enseñanza basada en valores recibidas por sus docentes. La parte cualitativa está representada por los puntos de vista y criterios de los docentes sobre la importancia de la educación en valores y su participación actual en este tema. La muestra está constituida por 100 estudiantes de sexto y séptimo año de educación general básica, se aplicó una encuesta compuesta por 14 preguntas, y una entrevista de 7 interrogantes realizada a dos docentes de la institución. Los resultados evidencian que los jóvenes requieren de charlas motivaciones parte de los docentes que promuevan una educación en valores, las influencias directas de la falta de valores en algunos estudiantes se deben principalmente a factores como desintegración familiar y poca comunicación con sus padres además de falta de socialización por el tiempo dedicado a los medios digitales, los docentes si bien han impulsado acciones las mismas son someras y no han tenido un impacto significativo.
