IMPLEMENTACIÓN DE TÉCNICAS DE VALORACIÓN DE PROYECTOS DE REHABILITACIÓN DE PISTAS DE ATERRIZAJE EN AEROPUERTOS

Abstract

The present study aims to evaluate the various evaluation techniques employed in the rehabilitation of runways at different airports, utilizing a mixed-methods approach that combines qualitative and quantitative techniques. Data was collected through seven structured questionnaires and seven semi-structured interviews with project managers, civil engineers, administrators, and financial experts, all with at least three years of experience in the sector. The results indicate that the majority of respondents use Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) as the primary technique, achieving a high level of overall satisfaction. However, the study identified significant obstacles, such as limited budgets and interdepartmental friction, which complicate the implementation of these practices. It is concluded that evaluation techniques are essential for project approval, as they facilitate the assessment of economic viability and risk reduction. Additionally, there is a highlighted need to improve professional training and access to accurate statistics, as well as the importance of addressing organizational resistance to maximize the use of these techniques in the future. This contributes to the knowledge of airport infrastructure and offers practical insights that can enhance effectiveness in project evaluation, favoring more informed decisions in the rehabilitation of runways.
