Abstract
The study entitled “Work Climate and Work Performance of Administrative Personnel
at the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS), 2024” aims to analyze the relationship
between the work climate and the performance of the administrative personnel of this
institution. The research seeks to identify opportunities for improvement in the work
environment to increase productivity. The methodology is of a basic or pure type, focused on
generating theoretical knowledge about work dynamics. A combined approach is employed,
using both qualitative and quantitative methods, to obtain a comprehensive view of work
climate and performance. The design is non-experimental, which implies that variables will
not be manipulated and environmental conditions will not be controlled. The study population
is composed of 56 people from the administrative area of the IESS. Structured questionnaires
and interviews with open-ended questions will be used for data collection in order to obtain
both quantitative and qualitative data that provide a complete view of the subject under investigation.

El objetivo de este proyecto es mejorar la seguridad operativa en Pilot Transport Marine
mediante el análisis y optimización del comportamiento organizacional y la cultura de
seguridad, con el fin de prevenir errores humanos y accidentes en las operaciones marítimas.
El problema central es cómo el comportamiento organizacional y la cultura de seguridad
influyen en la prevención de accidentes operativos en la industria marítima. Este estudio es
clave para abordar fallas organizacionales que contribuyen a accidentes, como el ocurrido en
Pilot Transport Marine, y para implementar mejores prácticas en la gestión del personal. La
metodología adoptada es de investigación básica y cuantitativa, con un enfoque no
experimental, utilizando una encuesta estructurada para recopilar datos de los 63 empleados de
la empresa. El análisis de estos datos permitirá identificar áreas de intervención y promover
una mayor concienciación sobre la seguridad laboral, contribuyendo a una cultura
organizacional más segura y eficiente.
