Abstract

This study delves into the complex problem of the perception of electoral fraud and the lack of citizen confidence in Ecuador's electoral processes, marked by historical irregularities. Despite reforms implemented to improve transparency, challenges remain. The importance of voting as a civic duty and citizen right is highlighted, underlining the need for transparency for proper democratic functioning. The analysis focuses on Electoral Technical Control as a key strategy to guarantee the authenticity of the vote and dispel perceptions of fraud. An exhaustive analysis of the data from the CNE Azure Repository and the data of the contracted delegates is carried out to identify discrepancies and anomalies. A hypothesis is proposed on the association between perception of fraud and belief in the effectiveness of electoral control, thus seeking to contribute to the restoration of citizen confidence in electoral processes and strengthen democracy in Ecuador.
