| dc.description | Introducción: La tasa de supervivencia de los pacientes con mieloma múltiple se ha incrementado debido al trasplante autólogo de células madre hematopoyéticas. Sin embargo, estos pacientes pueden desarrollar infecciones graves posteriores a dicho tratamiento. Objetivo: Describir las complicaciones infecciosas más frecuentes en pacientes con mieloma múltiple postrasplante autólogo de células madre hematopoyéticas. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión sistemática cualitativa acorde a la guía PRISMA en PubMed desde el año 2013 hasta el año 2024. Resultados: Las infecciones bacterianas gram negativas y gram positivas son las más frecuentes en pacientes con mieloma múltiple, ciertos factores pueden agravar la condición clínica de los pacientes pudiendo desarrollar bacteriemias e infecciones oportunistas. Conclusiones: Es importante el manejo oportuno y preventivo de las infecciones para mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes con mieloma múltiple. | es |
| dc.description.abstract | Introduction: The survival rate of patients with multiple myeloma has increased due to autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. However, these patients can develop serious infections after such treatment. Objective: To describe the most frequent infectious complications in patients with multiple myeloma after autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Methodology: A systematic review was carried out according to the PRISMA guideline in PubMed from 2013 to 2024. Results: Gram-negative and gram-positive bacterial infections are the most frequent in patients with multiple myeloma; certain factors can aggravate the clinical condition of patients, leading to the development of bacteremia and opportunistic infections. Conclusions: Timely and preventive management of infections is important to improve the quality of life of patients with multiple myeloma.
