Abstract

Attachment is the bond created between a child and their caregivers that can be of 4 types: secure attachment, anxious attachment, avoidant attachment and disorganized attachment and evolutionary development is the process of changes that a child presents in different areas of development such as : the language area, cognitive, adaptive, social and motor area. This research deals with the types of attachment that can be created between parents or caregivers and their children, seeking to demonstrate the importance of adult attachment in the evolutionary development of children with autism spectrum disorder. The aim is to determine how adult attachment affects the evolutionary development of a child with ASD from 5 to 6 years of age through a mixed research approach, since both a qualitative and a quantitative method were sought in order to achieve a better understanding of the study. having as results that adult attachment does not affect the evolutionary development of a child with ASD. For future research we will study adult attachment as an influence on development in typical children of other ages.
