La Ética Profesional Incide En El Desempeño Laboral Del Departamento Financiero Del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Municipal De Machala

Abstract

Nowadays, ethics plays a determining role in the behavior, attitude and values of the individual in various aspects of their life, especially when their work performance is linked in the professional field with their public administration functions. From this perspective, the objective of the study was to analyze the aspects of professional ethics in order to identify its impact on the work performance of its officials in the Financial Department of the Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Government of Machala. The methodology used is a quantitative, descriptive, correlational approach, the design used was the non-experimental, transectional design. The study population was 80 public servants from the GAD Machala and the sample of this research is 67 servants from the Financial Area, which surveys were applied using the questionnaire with questions on a Likert scale as an instrument. The results of the research highlight many important aspects, mainly the conduct and code of ethics of the public servant, which allows us to conclude that there is a general evaluation between the variables of professional ethics and work performance, which is significant and direct, which generates difficulties in efficiency, effectiveness and effectiveness in professional progress, therefore, it is recommended to implement more severe internal sanctions that oblige officials to proceed with truthfulness and transparency during the management of public affairs.
