| dc.description | Se presenta un estudio comparativo del diseño sismo resistente y diseño por desempeño de dos estructuras de acero tipo pórtico: pórtico especial a momentos (PEM) y pórtico con arriostramiento excéntrico (PAE). Ambas estructuras tienen un área de 400 m2, 4 pisos y una altura total de 13.6 m. Estas son diseñadas para soportar la misma carga viva, carga muerta y carga de sismo. Los resultados muestran que el PAE tiene menor periodo de vibración, menores desplazamientos laterales y la deriva inelástica de entrepisos se reduce aproximadamente en un 33% con respecto al PEM. El diseño de las estructuras es competente cuando se sigue los lineamientos de la NEC-SE-DS 2015, AISC 360-10 y AISC 341-10. Sin embargo cuando se utiliza la matriz de relación entre nivel de amenaza sísmica y nivel de desempeño de la estructura, de VISION 2000, las estructuras no cumplen con el diseño por desempeño. | es |
| dc.description.abstract | It presents a comparative study of seismic force resisting system design and performance-based design of two steel frames structures: special moment frames (SMF) and eccentrically braced frames (EBF). Both structures have an area of 400 m2, 4 floors levels, and a total height of 13.6 m. These are designed to resist the same dead, live and earthquake loads. The results show that the EBF has a shorter period of vibration, minor lateral displacements and the inelastic drifts of each level is reduced by approximately 33% in comparison to the SMF. The design of the structures is competent following the guidelines of the NEC-SE-DS 2015, AISC 360-10 and AISC 341-10. However, using the matrix relationship between expected performance levels of the structure and expected levels of seismic ground motion, of VISION 2000, the structures do not satisfy the performance-based design. | es |
