Abstract
For this research the objective was to analyze the influence of family disintegration on the academic performance of second- grade “C” students at ”Unidad Educativa Santa Catalina Laboure”. A methodology with a mixed approach was used, applying both quantitative and qualitative tools. Surveys and semi-structured interviews were conducted with parents, and the results clearly show that children from disintegrated families have low academic performance, which is attributed to emotional factors, lack of support with homework and disruptive behaviors. It is concluded that family disintegration has a significant impact on children´s academic performance and it is recommended to implement psych- education support programs within the school environment.

Para esta investigación el objetivo fue analizar la influencia de la desintegración familia en el rendimiento académico de los niños de segundo grado “C” de la ¨”Unidad Educativa Santa Catalina Laboure”. Se empleó una metodología con un enfoque mixto aplicando herramientas cuantitativas y cualitativas. Se aplicaron encuestas y entrevistas semiestructuradas a padres de familia en donde los resultados muestran claramente que los niños de familias desintegradas tienen bajo rendimiento académico lo que atribuye a factores emocionales, falta de acompañamiento en las tareas y conductas disruptivas. Se concluye que la desintegración familiar tiene un impacto significativo en el rendimiento escolar de los niños y se aconseja contar con programas de apoyo psicoeducativa que se proporcionen dentro del entorno escolar.
