Abstract
The main objective of this research work is to identify how ICT influence academic performance in the area of mathematics in students in the tenth year of basic "B" of the Unidad Educativa Técnico Salesiano. The methodology used for the development of the research work was the application of a survey proposed to the students that allowed to know more in depth the reality of the use of ICT in the classroom. Also for the realization of this work, a study with a mixed approach was carried out, with a sample population of 35 students in tenth grade "B" between the ages of 14 and 15 years old. ICTs have a powerful impact in the area of mathematics since they promote meaningful learning in students within the teaching-learning process, allowing critical thinking and research through multiple resources such as interactive educational programs that promote and foster knowledge that will last in their daily lives.

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo principal identificar cómo influyen las TIC en el rendimiento académico en el área de la matemática en los estudiantes del décimo año de básica “B” de la Unidad Educativa Técnico Salesiano. La metodología utilizada para el desarrollo del trabajo investigativo fue la aplicación de una encuesta propuesta para los estudiantes que permitieron conocer más a fondo la realidad del uso de la TIC en las aulas. Así también para la realización de este trabajo se ejecutó un estudio con enfoque mixto, con una población como muestra de 35 estudiantes que cursan el décimo “B” que oscilan edades entre los 14 y 15 años de edad. Las TIC inciden poderosamente en el área de la matemática ya que propician un aprendizaje significativo en los estudiantes dentro del proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje, permitiendo la criticidad y la investigación a través de múltiples recursos como programas educativos interactivos que propicien y fomenten saberes que perdurarán en su diario vivir.
