Abstract
The aim of this study is to identify the socio-economic factors that influence school dropout among students in the second year of high school in the intensive special education service of the Ciudad de Tena Educational Unit. The methodology used had a cross-sectional quantitative approach with 17 students in the second year of high school in the Extraordinary Intensive Educational Service of the Ciudad de Tena Educational Unit. The instrument used was the questionnaire and the survey form, which made it possible to obtain quantitative and qualitative information. It is concluded that socio economic factors such as the lack of economic resources and work to cover expenses have a significant influence on the dropout of students, which can affect their personal and social wellbeing.

El presente estudio tiene por objetivo es identificar los factores socioeconómicos que influyen en la deserción escolar de los estudiantes de segundo de bachillerato del servicio educativo extraordinario intensivo de la Unidad Educativa Ciudad de Tena. La metodología que se utilizó tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo de tipo transversal con 17 estudiantes de segundo de bachillerato en el Servicio Educativo Extraordinario Intensivo de la Unidad Educativa Ciudad de Tena, el instrumento utilizado fue el cuestionario y el formulario de encuesta permitieron obtener información cuantitativa y cualitativa. Se concluye que, los factores socioeconómicos como la falta de recursos económicos y el trabajo para solventar los gastos influyen de manera significativa en la deserción escolar de los estudiantes lo que puede afectar en su bienestar personal y social.
