Abstract
The excessive use of technology during the pandemic has had a significant impact on learning. While technology played a crucial role in enabling online education and maintaining social connections during periods of physical distancing, it also brought about a series of challenges.
First and foremost, excessive screen time, whether for online classes, social media, or entertainment, has led to mental health problems such as increased stress and anxiety. The lack of physical interaction and in-person socialization has also contributed to feelings of loneliness and isolation among young people.
Furthermore, the constant distraction offered by technological devices has had a detrimental effect on students' concentration and attention. This has resulted in a decrease in the quality of learning and an elevated risk of procrastination.
In summary, while technology was indispensable during the pandemic, its excessive use has had adverse effects on the mental health, concentration, and educational equity of third-year high school students in El Cisne, who are part of the statistics of indiscriminate screen use.
