Abstract
The purpose of this academic work was to propose the alternative use of Learning and Knowledge Technologies (LKT) to enhance reading and writing skills in second-year students of General Basic Education at "Unidad Educativa Ahuano". The methodology employed included a deductive and mixed approach, involving prior research, surveys, and interviews with students and teachers to identify needs and characteristics related to reading and writing. The non-experimental design was based on the observation of phenomena in their natural context. The most relevant finding emphasized the urgent need to strengthen reading and writing skills, closely associated with a lack of motivation. As a result, a workshop for teachers was designed on the use of LKT and the "Aprende a leer con Pipo" program as tools to promote literacy and improve the reading and writing process in students.

El propósito de este trabajo académico fue proponer el uso alternativo de las Tecnologías del Aprendizaje y Conocimiento (TAC) para fortalecer las habilidades de lectoescritura en estudiantes de segundo año de Educación General Básica en la "Unidad Educativa Ahuano". La metodología empleada incluyó un enfoque deductivo y mixto, que comprendió investigaciones previas, encuestas y entrevistas a estudiantes y docentes para identificar necesidades y características relacionadas con la lectoescritura. El diseño no experimental se basó en la observación de fenómenos en su contexto natural. El hallazgo más relevante subrayó la urgente necesidad de fortalecer las habilidades de lectura y escritura que están estrechamente relacionadas con la falta de motivación. Como resultado, se diseñó un taller para docentes sobre las TAC y el programa "Aprende a leer con Pipo" como herramientas para fomentar la alfabetización y mejorar el proceso de lectoescritura en los estudiantes.
