Abstract
In this work, the general objective was to analyze the integration of gamification and its impact on encouraging reading in students of the eighth grade of Basic General Education, of a fiscal institution located in the Utuana parish; A qualitative methodology was used based on a non-experimental design. Data collection was carried out through a structured interview applied to the total population, twelve students. The results were analyzed under four criteria: perception of gamification, connection between reading content and student preferences, resources to forge reading habits and impact of gamification on reading, concluding that gamification affects the processes of encouraging reading, Finding that students have a positive perception of gamification suggests that the insertion of these activities can boost interest and motivation towards reading.

En el presente trabajo se planteó como objetivo general analizar la integración de la gamificación y su incidencia en la animación a la lectura en los estudiantes del octavo grado de Educación General Básica, de una institución fiscal ubicada en la parroquia Utuana; se empleó una metodología cualitativa a partir de un diseño no experimental. La recolección de datos se realizó a través de una entrevista estructurada aplicada al total de la población, doce estudiantes. Los resultados se analizaron bajo cuatro criterios: percepción de la gamificación, conexión entre contenidos lectores y preferencias estudiantiles, recursos para forjar hábitos lectores e impacto de la gamificación en la lectura, concluyendo que la gamificación incide en los procesos de animación a la lectura, al comprobarse que los estudiantes tienen una percepción positiva sobre la gamificación da a entender que la inserción de estas actividades puede despuntar el interés y motivación hacia la lectura.
