Intragastric Balloon. The average age was 40 + 1.37 (37.26 – 42.74) years,
of which a 68% were women and a 32% were men. The patients that were
performed Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery showed a significant weight
reduction, they went from an average pre-surgery weight of 120.42 + 16.85
kg to a year later average weight of 76.05 + 12.1kg; in comparison to patients
whom were performed Intragastric Balloon, they showed an average presurgery
weight of 131.2 + 17.15 kg and the results one year after surgery
were 108.91 + 13.71 kg. There was an appropriate quality of life in the group
of patients corresponding to Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery in comparison to
the Intragastric Balloon Surgery group. Nevertheless, during the valuation of
the serum levels of haemoglobine and hematocrit, showed an unfavorable
tendency on patients from the Sleeve Gastrectomy group.
Conclusion.- The Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery is an efective and secure
procedure, it clearly demonstrated a larger reduction of the anthropometric
values in contrast to the Intragastric Balloon, it also, improved significantly
the quality of life in this patients, despite the fact that mostly of its patients
will have to maintain in the future a nutritional supplement to keep the
serum levels of haemoglobin and hematocrit between normal values.
Description
sometidos a Manga Gastrica.
