Abstract

This research analyzes the impact of technological dependence on teaching and learning processes, particularly in the context of frequent power outages in Ecuador. Based on the observations of teachers from the Centro de Estudios Espíritu Santo, it explores how these outages have highlighted the vulnerability of education systems reliant on digital technologies, affecting both teaching and student learning. The study aims to understand how interruptions in electricity impact the use of educational apps and traditional teaching methods, and how these two approaches interact in situations of technological dependency. Through teachers' perceptions, the research investigates the challenges and opportunities that arise in the educational process when access to technology is limited. The goal is to provide recommendations on how to balance the use of technological tools with traditional methods, fostering a more resilient and adaptable teaching approach.
