| dc.description | El Barrio de Las Peñas es un atractivo turístico emblemático de la ciudad de Guayaquil visitado por turistas nacionales y extranjeros; además, es Patrimonio Cultural del país y es el segundo atractivo más visitado de la ciudad después del Malecón Simón Bolívar, conocido por su arquitectura colonial, centros de entretenimiento/recreación y eventos culturales. El presente documento de investigación busca determinar los impactos que las actividades turísticas ejercen en el Barrio de Las Peñas expuesto desde la perspectiva de los residentes del lugar. Para lograr ello, se llevaron a cabo 24 encuestas de percepción con escala tipo Likert y 2 entrevistas a actores turísticos involucrados, lo cual dio como resultado que para los habitantes del Barrio Las Peñas el turismo es una importante fuente de ingresos para el lugar y genera un impacto significativo en su desarrollo económico, siendo un importante impacto positivo la mejora de servicios básicos (agua, electricidad, alcantarillado, baños públicos, calles, jardines…) y el principal impacto negativo es el excesivo aumento en los precios de los productos y servicios ofertados en el Barrio Las Peñas. | es |
| dc.description.abstract | “Las Peñas” neighborhood is a tourist emblematic attraction of the city of Guayaquil visited by national and foreign tourists. It is a Cultural Heritage of the country and is the second attraction most visited of the city after “Malecón Simón Bolívar”. It is known by its colonial architecture, centers of entertainment / recreation and cultural events. The present research seeks to determine the impacts that tourism has in the Neighborhood “Las Peñas” exposed from the perspective of the local residents. To achieve that, 24 Likert-type perception surveys and 2 interviews with involved tourism stakeholders were carried out, which resulted in that for the inhabitants of the Las Peñas neighborhood, tourism is an important source of income for the place and it generates a significant impact in their economic development, being an important positive impact the improvement of basic services (water, electricity, sewer, public baths, streets, gardens) and the principal negative impact is the excessive increase in the prices of the products and services offered in the neighborhood. | es |
