Abstract

The investigation addressed the reading of several scientific articles, which highlight the need for societies to evolve their research system in the reconstruction of traffic accidents, the main objective was to recognize the theoretical contributions on the simulation and reconstruction of accidents. These have become a social problem that causes not only economic losses, but also human ones. The research was qualitative and followed ethnomethodology as a methodology, since the different social phenomena that have been related to the change and evolution of virtual reconstruction in traffic accidents will be studied in search of improving the quality of the results of the expertise in this area. It was descriptive since it seeks to analyze and describe the processes carried out in the investigation of traffic accidents and the contribution that simulation has in solving cases. It was concluded that, due to the variety, complexity and instantaneity of traffic accidents, the accuracy of performing quantitative accident analysis manually is quite low. With the development of simulation technology, numerical simulation methods can lay the theoretical foundation for vehicle accident reconstruction.
