Abstract
Accessibility makes it possible for every single person to have access to a service or
visit a place. It is under this premise that accessible tourism begins a type of inclusive
tourism that eliminates physical, sensory o communicational barriers in order to allow
entry to every touristic attraction or destination. Following this direction, the
investigation evaluates, with a technical data sheet based in the INEN standards, the
level of accessibility for people with special motor or sensory abilities of the Miniature
Museum “Guayaquil en la Historia”, located in Malecon 2000. The results of the
application of the fact sheet show that the location studied is partially accessible for the
special visitors mentioned above. It is recommended that the museum should
implement the pertinent adaptations to make it friendly for the visitor with special
abilities.
Description
La accesibilidad demarca la posibilidad para que todas las personas, sin excepción
alguna, puedan acceder a un servicio o visitar un determinado lugar. Bajo esta
premisa nace el turismo accesible, una modalidad turística incluyente que busca que
cualquier persona con o sin discapacidad pueda visitar un atractivo o destino turístico,
eliminando barreras físicas, sensoriales o comunicativas. En este sentido, el presente
trabajo de investigación evalúa a través de una ficha técnica elaborada a partir de las
Normas INEN, la accesibilidad turística para personas con capacidades especiales
motrices y sensoriales del Museo en Miniatura “Guayaquil en la Historia” ubicado en
el Malecón 2000. Es así que, a partir de los resultados obtenidos producto del
levantamiento de información de campo, se detalla que el objeto de estudio es
parcialmente accesible para los usuarios antes mencionados y que se deberían
efectuar adecuaciones para el mejoramiento de la accesibilidad para este tipo de
visitantes.
