Abstract

Abstract This study analyzes the integration of technological tools in six educational institutions in the Ecuadorian Amazon, three urban and three rural, aiming to identify barriers and opportunities in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Using a mixed-method approach and a descriptive-correlational design, aspects such as technological infrastructure, teacher training, and the impact on students’ digital skills were evaluated. The results reveal a significant digital divide, reflected in unequal access to technological resources and insufficient teacher training in rural areas. Strategies are proposed to reduce this gap through investments in infrastructure, teacher training programs, and inclusive policies that promote digital equity in the Ecuadorian educational system.
