Abstract

This study analyzes the level of accessibility to virtual education for students in the rural area of the Basic Upper School at U.E. "Dr. Antonio Andrade Fajardo" in Vinces. Using a methodology of data collection through paper surveys and Google Forms, significant barriers affecting access to virtual education were identified. These barriers include the lack of adequate devices such as computers and tablets, reliance on mobile phones belonging to their parents, and the use of prepaid internet services. Additionally, it was observed that only a minority of students have access to Wi-Fi at home, limiting their ability to fully participate in virtual education. The results suggest that these conditions create significant educational inequality between rural students and their urban peers. The most relevant conclusion is that investment in technological infrastructure and the implementation of training programs for both students and teachers are required. These measures are essential to improve accessibility and equity in virtual education, allowing all students to have the same learning opportunities regardless of their geographical location.
