This study analyzes the impact of digital tools on the motivation of first-year high school English students in a private girls’ school in Guayaquil. Through a quantitative and qualitative approach, students’ perceptions regarding the usefulness and frequency of use of platforms such as Kahoot, Quizlet, and Duolingo were evaluated. The results indicate that most students find these tools facilitate learning, increasing their motivation and classroom participation. The Chi-square independence test revealed a significant relationship between the perceived usefulness and frequency of use of digital tools (p = 0.0189). Additionally, qualitative analysis showed that the most motivating aspects are interactivity, dynamic activities, and ease of access. However, challenges such as connectivity issues and lack of activity variety were identified. It is concluded that the proper implementation of digital tools fosters a more dynamic and autonomous learning process. The study recommends integrating these tools into structured pedagogical strategies to optimize their educational impact.
