| dc.description | El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo implementar un asistente de pronunciación basado en inteligencia artificial (IA) para mejorar la competencia oral en inglés de estudiantes de primer curso de bachillerato con nivel B1. Se aplicó una metodología cuantitativa de tipo aplicada, con diseño preexperimental, empleando instrumentos como pretest y postest, análisis de grabaciones y encuesta bivalente. La muestra estuvo conformada por 24 estudiantes. Los resultados evidenciaron una mejora significativa en fluidez, precisión fonética y confianza comunicativa, respaldada por datos objetivos y percepciones estudiantiles. La herramienta fue bien recibida, recomendada por el 100 % de los participantes y valorada por su utilidad y accesibilidad. Se concluye que la IA, implementada con guía pedagógica, puede convertirse en un recurso efectivo para fortalecer el aprendizaje del inglés en contextos educativos ecuatorianos, especialmente donde existen limitaciones de práctica oral. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This study aimed to implement a pronunciation assistant based on artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the English oral competence of first-year high school students at B1 level. A quantitative applied methodology with a pre-experimental design was used, applying instruments such as pretest and posttest, voice recording analysis, and a binary survey. The sample consisted of 24 students. Results showed a significant improvement in fluency, phonetic accuracy, and communicative confidence, supported by both objective data and student perceptions. The tool was well received, recommended by 100% of participants, and valued for its usefulness and accessibility. It is concluded that AI, when pedagogically guided, can become an effective resource to strengthen English language learning in Ecuadorian educational contexts, especially where oral practice is limited. | |
