The study analyzes the importance of expert reports in criminal proceedings in Ecuador during the 2022-2024 period, highlighting their influence on judicial decisions. These reports, prepared based on scientific and technical criteria, represent an indispensable tool to ensure that judicial resolutions are grounded in objective and impartial evidence. The relevance of these documents lies in their ability to translate technical information into comprehensible and useful elements for judges, allowing for an appropriate evaluation of the evidence. However, their effectiveness is conditioned by several key factors, such as the clarity of the language used, the methodological rigor in their preparation, and the expert's ability to defend their findings during judicial hearings. High-profile cases, such as Sobornos 2012-2016, Metástasis, and Obstruction of Justice, have demonstrated the decisive role of expert reports in resolving complex judicial disputes. In these cases, expert analysis has been fundamental in establishing connections between the accused and the investigated facts, supporting judges' decisions with solid and verifiable bases. This analysis highlights that expert reports not only bring clarity and precision to the processes but also contribute decisively to strengthening trust in the judicial system and ensuring impartial justice.
