Abstract
The following article presents a descriptive study of the current situation of animal protection laws in the countries of Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. For which, current reforms of Animal Protection laws governing these countries were analyzed, with the objective of establishing comparative of animal abuse and the role of the authorities to control and protect animals. The article concludes that there is similarity in the countries analyzed and their laws to protect animals, however the aspect that differentiates them with Ecuador, is the lack of a law to protect animals.

El presente artículo realiza un estudio descriptivo de la situación actual de las Leyes de Protección Animal, de los países de Colombia, Perú y Ecuador. Para el cual se analizó las actuales reformas de Las leyes de Protección Animal que rigen en estos países, con el propósito de establecer un comparativo sobre maltrato animal y la función de las autoridades para controlar y proteger a los animales. Se concluye que existe semejanza en sus leyes al proteger a los animales de los países analizados, sin embargo el aspecto que los diferencia con Ecuador, es la falta de una Ley que proteja a los animales.
