| dc.description | El presente trabajo busca analizar los actuales procesos utilizados en la investigación de secuestros extorsivos en Ecuador donde los perpetradores utilizan plataformas de internet, tales como redes sociales y/o comunicaciones, con el fin de extorsionar a los familiares de las víctimas. A través de un análisis técnico informático y jurídico, el trabajo destaca las principales mejoras con relación a los avances en la investigación de este tipo de delitos en los últimos años, al igual que los retos que enfrenta el sistema de investigaciones criminales del Ecuador en relación con países miembros del Convenio de Budapest de Cibercrímenes. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The following paper seeks to analyze the current investigative processes used in extorsive kidnapping situations in Ecuador, where perpetrators use internet platforms such as social networks and/or communications, with the purpose of extorting relatives of the victim. Through both a legal and IT technical analysis, the paper remarks the principal improvements regarding breakthroughs in the investigation of this type of crime in the past years, while at the same time highlighting the challenges that the Ecuadorian criminal investigations system faces compared to other member countries of the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime. | |
