| dc.description.abstract | This study addresses the importance of access to justice for victims of domestic violence in Ecuador, analyzing the role of the judicial system and the state response. While the legal framework establishes guarantees for victims, the effectiveness of its implementation faces significant challenges, such as revictimization, lack of training for justice operators, and limited availability of protective resources. In particular, the judicial system plays a key role in guaranteeing rights, as its decisions must be based on principles of impartiality and fairness. However, victims’ access to justice depends on various factors, including the speed of case processing, the effective implementation of protective measures, and the provision of psychosocial support for those affected. The study of high-profile cases has demonstrated the need to strengthen the state response. Although there have been regulatory advances, the gap between the law and its enforcement remains an obstacle to ensuring effective justice. Finally, it is concluded that the consolidation of an accessible, efficient, and gender-sensitive justice system is essential for the protection of victims. | |
