Abstract
Article 68 of the Republic Constitution decrees that adoption is not allowed between same-sex couples. However, in Ecuador, the Equal Marriage and Family Diversity ruling recognizes the union between both sexes as a complement to Article 67 of the same constitutional provision. If the Constitutional Court authorizes different types of families and marriage for same sex couples, it is inconsistent to not allow integrative adoption; given that Ecuador is a country that advocates for equal rights for its inhabitants.
