| Resumen : | The objective of this research was to determine the analysis in the shipping industry in Ecuador as a consequence of the financial crisis of 2008, for which the following results have been determined: Several measures were taken by the Federal Reserve Fund, such as drastically reducing the rate of federal funds to introduce more liquidity in order to boost the economy. The analysis of the federal funds rate and maritime container traffic was carried out using a time series model. The results of the linear regression model suggest a negative relationship between the financial crisis of 2008 and the Ecuadorian shipping industry so that before a 1% increase in the rates of federal funds and fluctuations of the dollar these affect the shipping industry at 0.16% and 1.86% respectively. |
| Descripción : | El presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar el análisis en la industria naviera en Ecuador como consecuencia de la crisis financiera de 2008, para ello se han determinado los siguientes resultados: Varias medidas fueron tomadas por la Reserva Federal de Fondos tales como reducir drásticamente la tasa de los fondos federales para introducir más liquidez con el fin de impulsar la economía. Por medio de un modelo de series de tiempo se realizó el análisis de entre la tasa de fondos federales y el tráfico marítimo de contenedores. Los resultados del modelo de regresión lineal sugieren una relación negativa entre la crisis financiera del año 2008 y la industria naviera ecuatoriana por lo que ante un incremento del 1% de las tasas de los fondos federales y las fluctuaciones del dólar estas afectan a la industria naviera en 0.16% y 1.86% respectivamente. |
