Abstract

This paper analyzed the most important and representative changes, as well as the development of the Ecuadorian, financial and social insurance market in the face of the new regulations that have been presented in previous years, evaluating their impact on insurance companies. A review has been made in recent years, through a market analysis taking into account: evolution, growth, membership, composition, contribution to the country's economy, main sectors, factors that have hurt their claims, advantages and disadvantages on the new Code Organic and Monetary, analyzing the behavior of the insurance market against the instructions and regulations of the new reform of the General Insurance Law, its impact on market participants, the variation in technical profitability, and the general impact this will have sector. It was observed that in 2016 legal, social and economic variables have had a significant direct effect on the Ecuadorian insurance sector.
