| Resumen : | The automotive industry in Ecuador has been changing during the period 2007 - 2013 because of the variation in the trading policies that the present government has established. The different measures and regulations have the goal of decrease the commercial deficit the country has and this is why this paper is focused on analyzing the impact of this policies on the automotive industry and evaluate the evolution of this sector through the time period of this new government. This research analyses historical data and also interviews to employees from local car dealers. The investigation concludes that even if customs policies and taxes increases for cars, the demand for them will grow anyways. Also, these policies haven’t succeeded in order to reduce the deficit of the trade |
| Descripción : | El sector automotriz en el Ecuador se ha visto en constante cambio durante el período 2007 - 2013 debido la variación en las políticas aduaneras que el gobierno en curso ha establecido. Las distintas medidas gubernamentales y regulaciones tienen como objetivo principal cubrir el déficit comercial en el que se encuentra el país y es por esto que la investigación se concentra en analizar cómo éstas medidas han afectado al sector automotriz y valorar la evolución que ha tenido éste durante el periodo del actual gobierno. Se realiza un análisis cuantitativo y cualitativo debido a que se estudian datos históricos y se realizan entrevistas a asesores comerciales de concesionarios vehiculares de la ciudad. La investigación concluye que la demanda de vehículos aumente a pesar de las restricciones de importaciones, y que éstas a su vez no han logrado reducir el déficit en la Balanza Comercial. |
