ANÁLISIS DE CARACTERÍSTICAS FÍSICAS Y MECÁNICAS DEL HORMIGÓN LIGERO, CON AGREGADOS PROVENIENTES DE PIEDRA PÓMEZ

Abstract

In the following work presented, it has been realized an investigation about the use of pumice as a fine and coarse aggregate for the manufacture of concrete, whose main characteristic is reduce its weight, constituting the called lightweight concretes as they are known as well. The structure of the work is given by four well-structured chapters which form the main body of the thesis. In Chapter One, it is described the whole problem situation till the objectives formulation and the research justification. In Chapter Two, it is given the explanation of all the art status, it means, the referential frame, where we can see the classification of concrete; also, the characteristics of lightweight concrete, such as its properties physical and chemical, and the advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, the characteristics of the concrete components and the use of pumice in some research. In Chapter Three, the entire design of the experimentation was done; also, the fundamental tests conducted to elaborate concrete specimens. In Chapter Four, it performed an analysis of the results obtained on the laboratory tests performed. In Chapter Five, the conclusions of the work are given and also some recommendations to consider for future research on this topic.
