Abstract

Durán, city of the province of Guayas, is in full social and urban development, for this they need to create new projects that contribute culturally and socially to the population, the city hall is in a plan of improvements of infrastructure where they are among others the city hall building, roads and a convention center For the development of the plan the city hall requested the convention center project that would replace the current small convention center. With this, the city intends to create a cultural nucleus within the area, and maintain the title of creative city that UNESCO granted in previous years. This convention center will be located in the property where the old alcohol factory of Ecuador was located. This property with privileged location facing the river and surrounded by industries that will be moved because of the new development plan of the city The design responds to social issues of the city as the railway and industries that helped from the beginning to the economic development of the canton. It seeks to reflect important features of the population and give all facilities so that citizens in general can visit and have their events there. Trying to encourage more visits that leave economic and cultural benefits in the place.
