CENTRO RESIDENCIAL INCLUSIVO PARA ADULTOS MAYORES EN LA CIUDAD DE GUAYAQUIL.

Abstract

This document will study the problem and at the same time propose solutions to it on the deficiencies in infrastructure and services for the elderly in the city of Guayaquil. It is suggested that the updating of infrastructures and other public and private spaces should begin with respect to the needs of this population in Ecuador. But the reality is that with the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic, what was evidenced was the opposite and there was even an almost total abandonment of the elderly. The important thing is that, worldwide in recent years, if inclusive design has been used in both urban and architectural projects, so that these groups benefit from society. The idea raised in this thesis is to create a residential center for older adults with bioclimatic concepts for a lower en vironmental impact, said infrastructure will use efficient construction systems, taking advantage of the natural resources of the site, which in turn makes the building a comfortable place for all users since they will enjoy an infrastructure with an optimal functional scheme and an interesting architectural formal language. Therefore, the main objective of the project is to provide the elderly with a better quality of life, through an architectural design approach that includes helpful spaces, recreational activities, celebrations and more.
