ANTECEDENTES Y CONCEPTUALIZACIÓN DEL LIDERAZGO DESTRUCTIVO: UNA REVISIÓN DE LA LITERATURA

Abstract

Leadership has been analyzed commonly as a positive term of favorable results for people and for the organization, even though the negative side, which is knows as destructive leadership, has received less attention in the academic area. This investigation has as objective to describe the destructive leadership antecedents, its conceptualization and consequences, offering some guidelines for its prevention. For that was made a literature review about the topic, mainly using data bases and some books wrote by important authors. The investigation discusses the different classifications proposed of destructive leadership or negative and there is a description of its characteristics. To conclude, it is important to mention the necessity to realize more studies about this topic, considering that this type of leadership is very frequent in organizations, and it affects not just the employees also has repercussions in the organizational results. Finally this investigation proposes some strategies that are suggested to prevent the emergence of this type of leadership in the organizations.
