Mediante un enfoque teórico descriptivo basado en una revisión bibliográfica, se identificaron los principales problemas del sector, como la falta de transparencia y la necesidad de respetar estándares ambientales y sociales. Los resultados muestran que blockchain ofrece soluciones innovadoras que permiten un seguimiento detallado y consistente de los productos desde su origen hasta el consumidor final. Esto no sólo mejora la trazabilidad y la sostenibilidad, sino que también mejora la competitividad del camarón ecuatoriano en el mercado internacional. Las historias de éxito internacionales muestran que esta tecnología puede garantizar la autenticidad y la calidad del producto, reducir los costos operativos y promover el cumplimiento normativo. El estudio concluyó que la adopción de blockchain no sólo resuelve los problemas de gobernanza y sostenibilidad de la industria, sino que también brinda a Ecuador una oportunidad estratégica para convertirse en líder en las exportaciones de camarón. Sin embargo, su implementación requiere inversiones en infraestructura técnica, capacitación y el desarrollo de marcos regulatorios que faciliten su adopción. Este estudio sienta las bases para futuras investigaciones empíricas, que muestren que la integración de blockchain puede transformar la gestión de la industria y contribuir a su sostenibilidad y modernización.The objective of the study is to analyze how blockchain technology can optimize the administrative management of the supply chain of the Ecuadorian shrimp industry, focusing on traceability and sustainability. Through a descriptive theoretical approach based on a bibliographic review, the main problems of the sector were identified, such as the lack of transparency and the need to respect environmental and social standards. The results show that blockchain offers innovative solutions that allow detailed and consistent tracking of products from their origin to the final consumer. This not only improves traceability and sustainability, but also improves the competitiveness of Ecuadorian shrimp in the international market. International success stories show that this technology can ensure product authenticity and quality, reduce operational costs and promote regulatory compliance. The study concluded that blockchain adoption not only solves the industry's governance and sustainability issues, but also provides Ecuador with a strategic opportunity to become a leader in shrimp exports. However, its implementation requires investments in technical infrastructure, training and the development of regulatory frameworks that facilitate its adoption.
