Es por eso que los organismos públicos son responsables de fortalecer las políticas públicas internas que garanticen indicadores de transparencia, ética, compromiso con la ciudadanía, cuidado del medio ambiente y rendición de cuentas. Por lo que esta investigación tiene como objetivo de evaluar las buenas prácticas de la RSP por parte del GAD de Machala y a su vez analizar la perspectiva que tienen los ciudadanos machaleños, sobre la participación ciudadana y la RSP aplicadas por el GAD. De ahí que para el cumplimento del objetivo, se empleó una metodología descriptiva con un enfoque cuali-cuantitativo, con estudió de campo, en donde para la recolección de datos se utilizó el instrumento de la encuesta estructurada por 14 preguntas, aplicada a 399 machaleños, cuyos datos serán sistematizados y analizados mediante el análisis de tablas cruzadas. Los resultados más significativos fueron que el 72% de los ciudadanos tienen la perspectiva que el GAD Municipal si aplica la RSP en sus gestiones.Public Social Responsibility (PSR) originates from the need to implement good governance in public sector institutions.
