Resumen : Our objective was to determine the usefulness of the PAR-Q to evaluate recommended physical activity of patients with metabolic syndrome that attend to the Luis Vernaza Hospital. Methodology: Observational, analytical, cross and prospective study. The population of the area was 20,000 outpatient subjects, the sample obtained from the system data was 119 patients. Clinical Suite Servinte was used to collect data, and the PAR-Q to perform the 7 questions that are included. Results and conclusions: Of 119 subjects, 47 (39%) were men and 72 (61%) women. PAR-Q results: Positive in 88 (74%) and negative in 31 (26%). „Yes‟ was answered: to the first and second question by 10 (8%) people , to the third question 5 (4%) people, to the fourth question 7 (6%) people, to the fifth question 35 (29%) people, to the sixth question 68 (57%) people and to the seventh question 10 (8%) people. IDF Classification: From the 119 patients, 83 (70%) had hypertriglyceridemia, 31 men and 52 women; 90 (76%) showed decreased HDL, 34 men and 56 women; 38 (32%) had hypertension, 19 men and 19 women and 80 (75%) had hyperglycemia, 35 men and 54 women. 86% of the patients presented xi 3 parameters, while 19% had 2 parameters. We conclude that almost all our population, regardless of gender, present risk factors associated with metabolic syndrome. Moreover, most of them should be subject to a physical activity plan according to their condition.

Clasificación IDF: De 119 pacientes, 83 (70%) presentaron hipertrigliceridemia, 31 hombres y 52 mujeres; 90 (76%) presentaron disminución del HDL, 34 hombres y 56 mujeres; 38 (32%) presentaron hipertensión arterial, 19 hombres y 19 mujeres y 80 (75%) presentaron hiperglicemia, 35 hombres y 54 mujeres.
