FACTORES DE CRECIMIENTO EMPRESARIAL COMO VARIABLES DE DESARROLLO DE LAS PEQUEÑAS Y MEDIANAS EMPRESAS DEL SECTOR MANUFACTURERO DE LA CIUDAD DE GUAYAQUIL

Abstract

In recent years, SMEs have generated remarkable growth within the market. In the same way, it is important to consider that Ecuadorian economy is under a level of openness which has generated opportunities for the different sectors. Therefore, this academic article studied the growth factors that contribute to the development of small and medium enterprises in the manufacturing sector of the city of Guayaquil. This study was carried out using the research technique called "survey" of 67 SMEs in the manufacturing sector of the city of Guayaquil. Among the most significant growth factors, technological advancement and credit accessibility were obtained. In the same way, it is concluded that a low level of government support linked to the economic situation of the country, limits the accessibility to credits and encourages the high level of public ignorance of the support programs for SMEs. The study suggests that programs that promote technological advancement in the operative process of the manufacturing sector be encouraged.
