The following paper analyzes the development of the Republic of Kazakhstan after the fall of the Soviet Union (USSR), which has contributed through its independence to grand changes in the sectors: political, social and economic. Its principal source of economic prosperity being natural resources, the most significant of which has been petroleum. This has permitted Kazakhstan to gradually establish relationships with other countries following its independence. The relationships analyzed include those with its principal ally Russia, China, United States and the European Union (EU). In addition to the aforementioned relations, an investigation will be made into the historic relationship with Latin America and Ecuador. Through the qualitative and historical Exploratory methodology, applying the methodology tool of PEST analysis, the decisive factors that could benefit at the moment of establishing relations with Ecuador will be explained given that both countries have an interest in embracing a commercial relationship. Nevertheless the research indicates that neither country has record of significant exports or imports up to 2012.es
